A perfect snack for dogs and puppies. The recipe also makes a great licky mat treat, Kong or stuffer toy filling, and birthday cakes for dogs.

Meatball Recipe, Licky Mat, Toy Stuffer or Birth Cake Recipe for Puppies and Dogs 

Ingredients
Optional Ingredients
Select from:
  • 4 garlic cloves, finally minced.
    • Garlic is a self-section item.
    • Note - don't include garlic if your dog is less than 6 months of age.
  • 1/8 cup dry or fresh chopped: basil, dill, marjoram, or parsley.
  • 1/8 cup chopped sun dried tomato.  
Preparation
  1. Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.
  2. If your puppy or dog is on a raw diet, choose one of the following options:
    1. Use a spoon or your hands to form the mixture into round balls or small patties.
    2. Spoon into ice cube trays and freeze.
    3. Fill a Kong or other stuffer treat.
    4. Spread on a licky mat.
    5. Form into a birthday cake for your dog.
  3. If your puppy or dog is not on a raw diet:
    1. Add 1 tsp to 1 tbs of grass fed pastured sourced butter or coconut oil to the fry pan.   
    2. Decide how you'd like to prepare and serve the treat:
      1. Meatballs or patties.
      2. Fill ice cube trays.
      3. Fill a Kong or stuffer toy.
      4. Spread on a licky mat. 
      5. Birthday cake.
    3. If you've decided to make meatballs, patties or birthday cake:
      1. Use a spoon or your hands to form the mixture into round balls or small patties.
      2. Then gently cook the meatballs (or patties or birthday cake).
      3. Allow to cool.
      4. The meatballs, patties or mixture is ready to serve, refrigerate or freeze.
    4.  If you've decided to fill ice cube trays, a Kong, stuffer toy or licky mat:
      1. Gently cook the mixture.
      2. Allow to cool.
      3. Fill the ice cube tray, Kong, stiffer toy or licky mat and serve, refrigerate or freeze.
Refrigerate or Freeze
  1. Refrigerate:
    1. Raw meatballs, patties, birthday cake or the mixture can be stored in the refrigerator for a maximum of two days. 
    2. Gently cooked meatballs, patties, birthday cake or the mixture can be stored in the refrigerator for up to four days.
  2. Freeze:
    1. Freeze.
    2. When needed, take out of the freezer, thaw in the refrigerator.
    3. Raw thawed - use within 24 hours.
    4. Gently cooked thawed - use within two to three days.
